Daily Schedule

A typical day consists of roughly 6 hours of sessions, with ample time for relaxation and activities on the Cedar Lake grounds.

    Please check-in with Zawiyah staff in the Dining Hall upon arrival. Children's counselors will also be avaible for check-in.

    In this session, we will recieve and welcome all scholars, contributors and participants and lay out the objectives for this weekend. Dr. Umar will introduce the discourse which will continue over the next two days and share his hopes for the work that lies ahead.

    Roast some marshmallows and join us as we sing praises of God and His Messenger.

    We will focus on the book Al Iman ul Fitra, which begins with a study of what has been related about the primordial nature (fiṭra) of the human being in the Book of God Most High and the Sunna of His Noble Messenger ﷺ.

    Enjoy the rustic outdoors with a walk around the lake, or a pick-up game of basketball, volleyball or softball. Or take some time to rest, reflect and enjoy the Cedar Lake grounds.

    Faisal Ghias, Executive Director of The Oasis Initiative, will briefly describe the vision, goals and current projects.

  17. Inside Myanmar's Hidden Genocide

    Azeem Ibrahim, author and Senior Fellow at the Center for Global Policy, will give us a brief introduction to the Rohingya, a persecuted Muslim group in western Burma who are facing mass genocide.

    Please remove your belongings and luggage from the rooms by 10:00 a.m. and return your keys to Shazia at registration.

  5. Closing Session

    In this session, we will seal our time together with closing insights from our scholars, guests and Dr. Umar. We will close with a vision for our next steps and prayer.
